Google to buy Fitbit for $2.1 billion

Fitbit, Inc. (NYSE: FIT) today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Google for $7.35 per share in cash, valuing the company at approximately $2.1 billion, according to a press release by Fitbit.

The transaction is expected to close in 2020, subject to customary closing conditions, including approval by Fitbit’s stockholders and regulatory approvals.
