Bucharest Stock Exchange Group reported a significant increase in net profit after the first nine months reaching 21.50 million lei, double compared to the previous period

The Bucharest Stock Exchange Group, consisting of the operator with the same name, Depozitarul Central and CCP.Bucharest (Central Counterparty) reported a consolidated net profit after the first nine months of 2023 in significant growth, reaching the value of 21.50 million lei, double compared to the previous period (10.72 million lei in 9L 2022), being directly influenced by the increase in trading revenues.

Thus, operational revenues achieved by BVB at the individual level reached 36.86 million lei, an increase of 50% or 12.32 million lei compared to the previous period (9L 2022 – 24.54 million lei) determined by the evolution of trading revenues, mainly those from offers following the successful completion of the Hidroelectrica IPO, which generated an impact in revenues amounting to 12.53 million lei, but also from regular transactions with shares, starting in July , impact after the H2O listing in the trading activity.

The increase was also supported by the 29% advance of data sales revenues, up to the value of 2.96 million lei, generated by the increase in the number of real-time data users, by the attraction of new data customers, as well as as a result of the application of the new tariff plan valid starting from January 1, 2023, of the increase in revenues from outstanding taxes up to the value of 3.75 million lei (+12% y/y) as a result of the indexation of transaction maintenance tariffs with the year’s inflation rate 2022 (13.8%), as well as the income from higher participant admission fees compared to the previous period.

The second contribution came from the Central Depository (DC), which generated revenues increasing by 27% or 4.89 million lei, up to the value of 23.28 million lei, mainly due to the revenues resulting from the services associated with the development the initial public offer of H2O but also the increase of some tariffs starting from 01.02.2023, especially the maintenance tariff for issuers.

CCP.RO Bucharest is in the authorization process, so it did not register operational revenues in the first 9 months of 2023.

The consolidated operating revenues of the BVB Group in the first nine months reached a record level of 59.89 million lei, an increase of 40% or 18 million lei compared to the previous period, generated, mainly, by the evolution of trading revenues recorded in the segment transaction, also supported by the advance recorded on the post-transaction and register segments.

It is also worth mentioning the evolution of the BVB quotation, which increased by 109% in the last year.
